Sparkle's challenge this week for our Christmas cards is to use strips of paper. I copied her idea of using 3 strips of the same paper next to a broader strip of paper since I loved the look so much! Instead of stamping I challenged myself to use some of my paper more creatively and cut the birdcage in a 3x3 square for my 'image'. Then I cut out the bird from the same paper and pop dotted her onto the image mat. I have been loving the non-stamping cards I've made with this paper line. The sentiment finished off the card with some fuzzy ricrac and a pretty little button. The embroidery floss is one strand of the red and one of white. I remember back in my cross stitch days that you could make some really pretty varigated designs by mixing threads so I tried it out on the simple stitching in this card. Stop by Sparkle's blog for the challenges and links to the other cards and have a lovely Sunday!
