Seven Cards for Seven Kidlets

I think I've just found my new favorite way to make kid's cards! Just two sheets of double sided pattern paper and a couple sheets/scraps cardstock and I was able to make these seven darling cards. I had bought these two papers together with the intent of recreating the cute playground layout in my local scrapbook store. I even got the diecut flowers to go with it. Well, two years later and the paper and diecuts still sat unused since I couldn't find photos that I felt went with the paper. So I decided I should make some little boy cards for our nephews' birthdays which are coming up in the next few months.

Supplies : Paper by Pebbles; Cardstock and Brads by CTMH; Robots from Stamping Bella; Thickers letter stickers by American Crafts; Bunnies by Greeting Farm; Precut flowers from LSS using Bazzil Cardstock; CTMH and Copic Markers; Pop Dots;

Of course after putting together the two robot cards I thought I might as well just go ahead and make cards out of all the paper. It worked out perfectly too since I could use the flowers on the cards for our nieces and the Riley card could be used for another nephew even though his birthday isn't until March. It never hurts to have them already made, especially since I often forget until that day to make a card! My fun new discovery was simply cutting out the cute stamped images and putting them on the cards instead of doing the usual matting.

A little while back I had seen a simple birthday gift set that used the number stickers to use for ages 1-9. I thought it was a great idea to use up the numbers in my thickers set so I applied that to these cards. I noticed this also helps me remember who I have cards made for. With 8 nieces and nephews and another on the way it gets a little crazy trying to keep track of just the kid's birthdays! The second bella birthday challenge was a sketch challenge and this is the card I made for Shannan's sketch. I mixed up a lot of different scraps and love how fun and bright it came out. I really liked my coloring on this much better and I've noticed that I have to keep relearning that I don't always have to completely match the colors in my creations for them to look good. These monsters are so cute and Cait immediately loved it saying they were birthday monsters and that the balloon was for her birthday, lol. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

A Couple Cards Just for Fun

This is Caitlyn's card. She was so excited about this new stamp and was watching so keenly while I colored my image for the #55 Bella sketch challenge that I stamped one out for her and let her color one too. Well, it just turned out so cute that I had to make it into a card. Both my mom and Paul's mom love it when they get art from the girls so this card will be perfect from Caitie to one of them since she is our lil artist ^_~

And little Wendy Papillion here was just for fun to use up some scraps. I thought it was so funny that I was saving this image Sparkle sent to me. I kept thinking, I only have one more of her so I need to save her and then while I was putting my Bitty Blooms into my binder I realized I have this stamp, lol! And Alanna asked if I bleed blue or red since I live in Utah. I am assuming that means am I a democrat or republican? I'm neither ^_~ I vote for the person, not the party so I don't 'pick sides'. I think people are way too touchy when it comes to elections. I just think we are always trying to teach our kids to be good sports, to still cheer for the team that wins even if it's not our team (well at least I do, lol). I feel elections should be much the same. Even if the person we didn't personally vote for gets elected we should still support, pray, and help them to make our country a better place. Anyway, off my political soap box, lol! Have a lovely Sunday!

Bella-Riffic Fridays!!

So not only are there a bunch of fun challenges each week on the Bella Forums, there is also the Bella Challenge Blog, where they post all the challenges from the Bella Forums, and a new Bella-Riffic Friday Blog where they host a random theme challenge each Friday! I thought it fit perfectly since I already post all my bella challenge creations on Friday ^_~. So now I have an extra card to show you each week! Yay!

I'm posting the new Bella-riffic Friday challenge first which was a polka dot theme! I lovey polka dots and I found it so surprising that I really don't have much polka dot paper! Could it be because I don't buy that much.... or is it just because I use it all up right away?! lol Either way, I did find this darling scrap of My Minds Eye polka dot paper. The yellow paper is actually tone on tone mini dots and I also used dotted orange ribbon. How's that for polka dots ^_~. I had to fluff up this cute little Tiddly's outfit, isn't she a doll?! And this Papertrey sentiment went perfectly with her and her little snow friend!

Here's another darling Tiddly Ink for BSC55. She reminds me so much of Caitlyn :D Cait is always coloring and drawing! Plus she loves to dress up for each 'part' she plays. For instance, she can't play with her toy kitchen and goodies without dressing up in her 'cooking dress' lol! I used some Dreamz2 My Minds Eye paper for this card, scraps from some of the layouts I did. I love these colors together :D

And here's my card for the #55 color challenge with a twist! The twist was to use 2 bella stamps in your creation so I picked bella's oven and chefabella :D I have actually been wanting to do something like this with these two stamps since I got them and now was the perfect time! This card is for my MIL. She always makes the turkey and pies for Thanksgiving and then the rest of us bring the sides. Bella Challenges Galore!

There are a lot of fun challenges happening at the Bella Forums lately! They've got the Bella's first Favorite stamper challenge going on - to look through Giffysk8s (Vicki's) gallery and case one of her cards, the usual sketch and color challenges, and the Stooby Tuesday challenge to create a card using red, white, and blue for election week. Wow! I didn't have time to do much crafting until Tuesday so I started with the easiest challenge for me, the sketch challenge. But before I go into the cards ScrapyTiff asked how I got the blue CS cut with the bracket style edge in my {heart} Snow layout. I actually bought one of the pre-cut pattern papers from my LSS just to use as a template. I traced the edge of the paper onto the wrong side of my CS (or pattern paper) and then cut it out by hand. I also do this with the scallop papers. I hope that helps! Now on to the bellas :D

I finally played with my wreathabella. I've been wanting to use her but just haven't felt the right inspiration yet. This sketch totally got my creative juices flowing! I have a bunch of her stamped out but they were already cut into squares so I had to restamp her and wait for her to dry before coloring. While I waited I put the card together. I pulled out some Fruitcake paper by Basic Grey and loved the holly paper. I also used my new Holiday Tags stamps by Papertrey ink for the circle tag and sentiment. I flipped the sketch horizontally and then tried to make the sketch fit a little more my style :D. She's got some sparkle on her hat and shoe puffs and on the wreath's bow.

I created this card for the Bella's Favorite Stamper challenge. We were to case one of Vicki's lovely bella cards. As I was looking through her gallery this card really inspired me. I loved the Tiddly Inks image and though I don't have that particular one, I thought to use the same Ella and Looloo line using an image I do have. I've never actually CASEd a card before so I hope I did it right, lol. I kept the same layout design and stamp line, and I also kept the 3 embellie theme she had on the sentiment panel. I added sparkle to her crown, necklace, and around each polkadot though you can't see it in the pic. Vicki always puts sparkly stuff on her cards so I just had to add some sparklies :D The buttons on this card were actually inspired by Vicki's card because Ella and Looloo are playing dressup and buttons popped in my mind! The funniest part about this card (or at least I think it is funny) is that when I was posting this on SCS and linking Vicki's card I realized that her card was also a CASE. So I CASEd a CASE, lol. I hope that's allowed!

This one is for the #3 Stooby Toosday challenge - make a card with red, white, and blue. I completely went away from the patriotic theme and created yet another Christmas card ^_~ She has a lot more sparkle than is showing up on the photo. I was a bit sad earlier this week as I went to go pick up the scallop punch to fit my Holiday Tags stamp set and Robert's was all out of them :( And unfortunately they are the only place here that I've found that sells the Marvy scalloped punches. I thought for sure Michaels would carry them but ours doesn't :P Oh well, I'll just have to wait lol.

I finally made a card for the Bella #44 sketch challenge, lol! I had to make the side circles smaller to fit in a standard card and then thought snowflakes would be so cute there! Her outfit came out more orangy in the picture but in real life it just looks like a darker shade of sorbet. I actually made this card last out of the bunch but since it is Christmas, I'm putting it up here with the Christmasy cards ^_~. More liquid applique and glitter on this card like the card before. I just love the sparkly fur look so I decided to do it to this card as well :D

And this cutie was made for the #53 color challenge. Sparkle picked any shade of blue, any shade of yellow, and light green for an accent as the colors for her last color challenge on the bella forums. I stepped away from my Christmas cards for this one even though my hubby and I tried to brainstorm which shades I could use for a Christmas card, lol. Sometimes it's just nice to take a break and do something different. I've had these BoBunny papers since January and had grown out of liking them until... I turned them over! lol The other sides sported some great monocromatic designs that fit perfectly with the colors for the challenge and opened up new ideas for the papers.
