More Scraps

Scrappy Scraps : Another layout I did over the weekend at a friend's again. I love scrapping with fellow scrapping ladies, it seems all my best ideas come out when I do!! Must be all the creative juices floating about when we get together ^_^. So here's another bath layout I did.

Colors : Star Spangled Blue, Sunny Yellow, White Daisy
Paper : Giggles n Grins PP ('06), Star Spangled Blue CS, White CS
Stamps : Vroom Caps, Solo T, Boutique Alpha, Sans Small upper and lowercase, Beauty Seen
Inks : Sunny Yellow, Star Spangled Blue, Black
Accents : Chipboard letter W and bookplate, silver brads, clear circle windows

I didn't want to make a two page layout with so many of the poses looking so much alike so I came up with this to put all seven pics on one page. It's much brighter in person (my digital is old and not that good :P)

The together round stamp is from the solo T set as well. I stamped it in SS Blue and I stamped the 'BIG' in SS Blue as well with the sans small caps set before using a q-tip in my yellow ink pad to add some color emphasis to the word big. 'in the' and 'tub' were stamped in plain ol' black with the sans small lowercase set. Bubbles were from Beauty Seen and I used silver brads and more of the clear bubbles to embellish.

And this is a spontaneous art project. My FIL came over today just a few hours ago and handed us two large oval sheets and two small oval sheets. The assignment? To color it the way we wanted, as in some way that kind of represented ourselves (one each for my hubby and I, and the two small ones were for each of my girls). It's a project for my MIL's birthday. Now, he said color but I took that to mean 'create' ^_^. I'm usually terrible when it comes to collages but I really liked how this turned out. I didn't want to glue anything on so there is nothing here save ink and the paper that was giving to me. I won't go into all the stamp sets I used because the list would be crazy, but I used my favorite colors along with my fav combo of pink/chocolate. Colors are Cocoa, Hollyhock, Blush, Baby Pink, Sweet Leaf, and Bamboo. The scanner picked up the colors a bit differently than it looks in RL. It took a couple hours to create and I had a lot of fun just stamping out things that I felt described me a little.

Mommy Scraps : Getting ready for preschool (just homeschooling) is pretty hectic. I have a new appreciation for elementary and preschool teachers. There is so much in the curriculum these days, so many activities and projects, I just think 'Wow! And here I thought it was crazy getting these things prepared for just one kid!' Right now I can't imagine how it must be to prepare for an entire classroom. And I'll be taking it easy too. Caitlyn so far has been enjoying watching me get things ready for her, printing out big ABCs on cardstock, scanning and printing out her little worksheets and coloring projects, gathering interesting supplies like craft sticks, paper plates, and chinsel strands together for craft projects. So far it's been a big dose of fun for me as well, but it's also a bit overwhelming. She's my oldest, so essentially Caitie gets to be my parenting guinea pig. But I guess as long as both of us are having fun with the experiment, then it won't matter too much if everything doesn't happen according to plan or 'just right'.

Scrapping is Back!!

Scrappy Scraps : The first pages I've done in months!! It feels nice to scrap again.

Colors : Baby Pink, Pansy Purple, Vineyard Berry, Indian Corn Blue, White Daisy
Papers : Baby Pink CS, Pansy Purple CS
Stamps : Free Spirit, Playful Flourishes, Rustic Alpha
Inks : Pansy Purple, Indian Corn Blue, Vineyard Berry, White Daisy reinker
Accessories : Just Blooms : Autumn Daisy, Pewter brads, Pewter buttons

Audrey getting into my ink. All products are CTMH except the buttons. It's so much prettier in person (would be nice to get a better digital camera ^_^). I stamped the flourishes in Vineyard Berry and Pansy Purple. The text circles, hearts and title were stamped in Indian Corn Blue. I used a scrap of pansy purple CS to frame one of the photos but the whole page is just stamping and embellishment!!

Here is a close up of the detail. I did a little whitewashing with the White daisy reinker (old one) on this corner and on the title. I might go back and restamp the title since it faded. I didn't realize the paper was still just barely damp so it dulled out the blue. I love the paper flowers! They are my favorite embellishments!

Colors : Breeze, Ocean, Orange, White Daisy
Paper : Just Chillin' PP ('06), Breeze CS, Orange CS, White CS
Stamps : Essential Alpha, Funky Fish, Beauty Seen, Vroom Caps, Charmed Lowercase, Typewriter
Accents : Clear beads, Liquid Glass

The first bath pics I've scrapped in a long time. I love the way it came out. It's a lot brighter than my camera picks up. The fish are also shiny from the liquid ice but you can't tell in the pic. I'm not quite finished with it though. I want to put 'My lil' before the fishes title on either cardstock photo clips or something else.

The first page. The bubbles are the clear beads from the white daisy accents that were changed. I've been trying to find a use for them and this worked great! I was going to use silver brads for the bubbles (that would have been cute too) but this was a great way to put those beads to work! I used glue dots to get them to stick to the page, it worked like a charm. I love Audrey's cheeser at the bottom.

The water text and both the fish also had liquid ice on them but the camera didn't pick it up. It's so cute in real life. You can see a bit more how long Caitlyn's hair is getting. It's been a trial to comb it out every day even with detangler (I go through that stuff like crazy). But her hair is so pretty, I don't want to cut it!

Mommy Scraps : Speaking of hair, I love how Caitlyn's hair looks when I put it up. Even she loves how it looks when it's done as she exclaims "Oh, beautiful!" after I've finished spraying it with a little hairspray. So, I'm left to wonder why the ONLY time she lets me put it up is when we go out someplace and the second we get back (and sometimes even before then) she pulls it out. I have yet to get any decent pictures of how adorable she looks since she's such a whirlwind of hyper activity. Caitlyn is a girl that doesn't like to hold still especially for the camera. The fact that my camera has been on the fritz lately and doesn't want to focus at all doesn't help matters. So I'm hoping that one of these days, even if it is just one day, Caitlyn will let me take a picture of her cute little meatballs (pigtails that are put into buns or the like) so that I can always remember how much I loved the way her hair looked put up, despite how hard it was to do and how much protesting she gave while I was doing it.

Starting Scraps

Colors : Smokey Plum, Plum Mist (retired), Colonial White
Paper : Victorian Wedding PP (retired), Smokey Plum CS, Plum Mist CS, Col. White CS
Stamps : Bethlehem, Christmas Scripts (for the inside)
Ink : Smokey Plum and Plum Mist

Card design was taken from Nicole Vanderkratts 50 from 1 PP workshop. I simply used two of the designs to use up some scraps I had of these papers :D.

Mommy Scrap : Audrey loves Daddy so much that when he gets ready to leave in the morning she rushes to put on Mommy's shoes, since hers are put up where she can't reach them, and waits by the door hoping that this time he'll take her with him to class. She's so distraught when she can't go, but when he comes home he gets a great big squealed "D!!" from her as she runs toward the door as well as an accompanied "Daddy!" from her older sister. Audrey will be a whooping two years old this October ^_^.

Love Scrap : You know you're hubby loves chocolate as much as you do when you buy truffles from the elementary school's fundraiser and say "I thought it was a good excuse to buy chocolate" and he replies, "I thought anything was a good excuse to buy chocolate!!"
